Lutte antiterroriste à Korhogo : Unir Civils et Militaires pour Sécuriser le Nord
On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the city of Korhogo took another step in its national defense strategy. The Iris Mont Korhogo Hotel hosted a crucial workshop dedicated to civil-military cooperation , a weapon now considered essential to counter the terrorist threat in the Poro region.
Organised by Sipodi (Programme for Dialogue on Security in West Africa) with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung , this meeting mobilized experts, defence and security forces (SSF) and representatives of civil society.
The tone was set by lecturer and researcher Eddie Guipié . During the first session, the security expert analyzed the evolution of terrorist risks in West Africa. His message was clear: security can no longer be a simple reaction; it must be based on anticipation and an integrated approach linking territorial surveillance and social monitoring.
The practical aspect of this synergy was presented by Lieutenant-Colonel Sadia Yereman Alain , supported by Brigadier General Ouattara Zoumana , commander of the Northern Operational Zone (ZON).
"The fight against terrorism relies as much on well-trained armed forces as on the involvement of informed and committed civilian actors." — Serge Sylvain Nadjé , Secretary General of the Korhogo Prefecture.
In closing, the prefectural authorities reiterated that the response to a cross-border threat must be collective. The challenge is to transform lingering mistrust into mutual trust between soldiers and civilians, thereby making Côte d'Ivoire a solid bulwark against instability.
