Plateau : la mairie offre un chapiteau et des vivres à la communauté musulmane pour le Ramadan
As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the Plateau town hall has taken an act of solidarity towards the Muslim community of the municipality. On Monday, February 16, 2026, at the Salam mosque, the municipal council, led by Mayor Jacques Gabriel Ehouo, presented a modern marquee and significant food donations.
This support includes 10 tons of sugar, 2.5 tons of rice, hundreds of cartons of milk and several other food items intended to support families during this period of fasting, sharing and spirituality.
The centerpiece of this social initiative is the donated marquee, valued at an estimated 45 million FCFA, which covers an area of 800 m² and can accommodate up to 1,000 people. It will allow worshippers to perform their prayers and hold major religious celebrations in better conditions, sheltered from the elements.
On behalf of the Muslim community, the chief Imam of the Salam Mosque expressed his deep gratitude to the municipal authorities for this generous gesture. He also offered prayers for peace, social cohesion, and the development of the Plateau district and all of Côte d'Ivoire.
Through this initiative, the Plateau town hall reaffirms its commitment to living together and supporting religious communities, in a spirit of solidarity and fraternity.
