Renaissance culturelle à Abobo : le CACAB fait peau neuve pour dynamiser la commune
The municipality of Abobo reached a historic milestone in its social development policy this Thursday, April 2, 2026. The official handover ceremony of the fully renovated Abobo Cultural Action Center (CACAB) brought together an impressive array of administrative and political authorities, as well as key figures from the arts community. This major rehabilitation project is more than just a facelift: it marks the birth of a modernized infrastructure, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and optimized spaces for welcoming the public and supporting the work of local artists.
This architectural and functional transformation is the result of a personal commitment by Téné Birahima Ouattara, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Member of Parliament for Abobo. In his address, he expressed his deep emotion at seeing this commitment come to fruition, also acknowledging the support of the partners who believed in the viability of this cultural hub. The new CACAB is now intended to be a vibrant living space, designed to host educational workshops for children, theatrical performances, large-scale concerts, as well as lecture series and exhibitions.
The influence of this center extends far beyond entertainment, touching on something essential: social cohesion. For the Minister of Culture and Francophonie, Françoise Remarck, this achievement is a "powerful gesture" that restores hope to young people searching for artistic role models. She emphasized that culture is an indispensable corollary to peace, positioning the renovated CACAB as a vector of stability and influence for the community and beyond.
As the mayor of the municipality and president of the Senate, Kandia Camara emphasized the educational dimension of the facility. For her, the CACAB is first and foremost a tool for empowerment and education. By offering young people a healthy environment for their training and women concrete opportunities to develop their talents, the center is establishing itself as a catalyst for human development. With this inauguration, Abobo acquires a powerful symbol of unity and progress, ready to energize the cultural heart of the economic capital.
