CAN 2025 : LA FSF CONTESTE ET SAISIT LE TAS APRÈS LA DÉCISION DE LA CAF
The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) announced that it has taken note of the decision rendered on March 17, 2026 by the Appeals Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), in the context of a dispute related to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
This procedure follows a complaint filed after the match between Senegal and Morocco during the competition.
According to the Appeals Board's decision, the appeal filed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) was deemed admissible. The board thus overturned the initial decision of the CAF Disciplinary Board, finding that the appellant's right to be heard had not been respected in the first instance.
In essence, the CAF considered that the behavior of the Senegalese team constituted a violation of the competition regulations, in particular articles 82 and 84.
As a result, the body declared Senegal defeated by forfeit , with a score of 3-0 in favor of Morocco .
In its statement, the Senegalese Football Federation denounced the decision as "unfair" and "unprecedented." It also announced its intention to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), based in Lausanne, to challenge the decision.
The FSF claims to want to defend "the rights and interests of Senegalese football" and assures that it will keep the public informed of developments in the case.
