CDM 2026 : Le Président Sénégalais s’est rendu au Stade hier

The President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall, made a lasting impression yesterday by personally visiting the stadium to support the Lions of Teranga during their crucial qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup. This remarkable presence demonstrates his commitment to the national team and the importance he attaches to this major sporting event.

The match took place at the Stade de Dakar, in an electric atmosphere where the Senegalese supporters showed boundless enthusiasm. Upon his arrival, the head of state was greeted by a guard of honor of officials and sports personalities, before heading to his box.

His gesture, while strengthening national cohesion around the team, also serves as a reminder of the importance of institutional support for athletes and sports competitions, particularly at a time when the Lions of Teranga are approaching qualification for the prestigious world competition.

The President's presence at the stadium also sent a strong message to the country's youth, showing them that sport, and football in particular, is an area where Senegal can shine on the international stage.

The match, full of suspense and intensity, finally ended with a 2-1 victory for the Lions, a decisive success which allows Senegal to officially qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
