In its quest to professionalize the sports sector, the Ivorian Ministry of Sports has taken a new step. From April 5 to 15, 2026 , a delegation from the Geneva-based Pass-Sport Association visited Côte d'Ivoire for a unique exchange of expertise focused on training young talent.

A partnership that goes beyond the field

Pass-Sport's expertise is based on a holistic approach, combining athletic performance, education, and social integration . This visit, coordinated by the Directorate General for Sports and Federal Life (DGSVF), laid the groundwork for a lasting collaboration along two major lines:

1. Infrastructure: The official launch of the rehabilitation work on the Dabou sports complex , a project entirely funded by the Swiss association.
2. Transmission: The holding of a high-level panel at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny stadium, bringing together Swiss experts and local trainers.

Professionalizing Ivorian academies

The exchange panel served as a platform to compare governance models. The objective is clear: to structure Ivorian training centers according to the best international standards.

"This workshop will strengthen the capacities of our supervisors and improve the governance of the academies," said Gouély Dodo Basile , representing the Minister of Sports.

For its part, the Ministry's Information Systems Department presented its new digital tool: a platform dedicated to the biometric detection and tracking of talent , proving that Ivory Coast is now relying on data to optimize its performance.

A shared vision

For Doumbia Adama , Director General of Sports, this partnership with Pass-Sport is part of a comprehensive modernization strategy. This "bridge of friendship" between Switzerland and Côte d'Ivoire has a single objective: to make sport a lever for national influence, in line with the ministerial vision of a "Greater Côte d'Ivoire".
