The Ivory Coast Elephants are preparing to return to action on the continental stage. The Ivorian Basketball Federation (FIBB) has officially announced the schedule for the second window of the 2027 World Cup qualifiers, scheduled for July 2-5 in Dakar , Senegal.

With a perfect record in February (3 wins in 3 matches), Miguel Hoyo's men approach this Senegalese stage as leaders of Group B, with the firm intention of securing their ticket to the next round.

Instructions for using qualifications

The road to the 2027 World Cup is organized into several crucial stages:

1. The immediate objective: To finish among the top three in the group at the end of this second phase in order to advance to the second round. Points earned during the first round are retained.
2. The second round: The qualified teams will play six additional matches against the nations from the other group that they have not yet played.
3. The Holy Grail: Only the top two from each group in the second round, along with the best third-placed team, will obtain their precious ticket to the final phase (i.e., 5 places in total for Africa).

Did you know? Currently ranked 3rd in Africa and 38th in the world by FIBA, Ivory Coast has its sights set on the World Cup which will take place from August 27 to September 12, 2027. After the Dakar stage, the race for tickets will continue in August 2026 and then in February 2027.
