Le Français n’a toujours pas retrouvé les courts depuis sa blessure à Roland-Garros.

Still hampered by a stress fracture in his back sustained at Roland Garros, Arthur Fils has withdrawn from the ATP 500 in Basel (October 20-26). The 21-year-old Frenchman, currently ranked 31st in the world, has not played a single match since the Masters 1000 in Toronto in early August, where he attempted an aborted return to the tour.

The injury, which occurred in June before his third-round match against Andrey Rublev, had already forced him to miss the entire grass-court season and the Asian Tour. While he is still on the roster for the Rolex Paris Masters (October 27 – November 2), his participation remains highly uncertain.

The Essonne player had already withdrawn from the ATP 250 in Brussels this week to avoid a relapse and take the time to fully heal his back. A prudent decision ahead of a 2026 season that promises to be decisive for his progress.

In Switzerland, the French delegation will still be well represented with Ugo Humbert, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Alexandre Müller and Benjamin Bonzi, while the recent winner of the Shanghai Masters 1000, Valentin Vacherot, has received a wild card to enter the main draw.
