Le « nouveau Pogba » du Stade Rennais met Habib Beye en alerte
Jérémy Jacquet, back on loan from Clermont, has quickly established himself as a key player for Stade Rennais. The 20-year-old defender is also a pillar of the French Under-21 team, where he stands out for his consistency and maturity.
According to L'Équipe , his performances have already attracted interest from several major European clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool. However, the Joinville-trained player's main ambition is to return to his favorite position: midfield.
"I was a midfielder at Joinville. And while scouting at Rennes, they told me: 'Jérém, go central defender.' At first, I was a bit against that," he revealed to the sports daily. Jacquet has never hidden his role model: "My favorite player is Paul Pogba. I've always wanted to play like him."
A wish that puts coach Habib Beye in a dilemma. Given the fragility of his current defense, Beye does not seem willing to deprive himself of Jacquet's services in the center, despite the player's expressed desire.
