Bettié en deuil après un accident mortel en marge de la campagne législative
The close of the legislative campaign turned tragic in Bettié. On Friday night, a road accident claimed the life of a young student and left several activists seriously injured.
The tragedy occurred after the last local meeting. A private vehicle, driven by an associate of a PDCI candidate, was transporting seven young girls to a neighboring village. For reasons still unknown, the vehicle veered off the road near the municipal cemetery, coming to a stop after rolling several times.
Among the victims, Brou Tanoh Bla, a ninth-grade student, succumbed to his injuries despite being transferred to the general hospital. The other passengers are currently under medical observation. An investigation has been opened by the authorities, while the driver, who fled the scene, remains actively sought. This tragedy has plunged the city of Bettié into deep sorrow at a time when the elections were about to begin.
