Excellence et montée en grade : La Gendarmerie Nationale célèbre ses forces vives
The High Command of the National Gendarmerie (CSGN) was the scene of a triple celebration this Thursday, March 5th, in Plateau. Presided over by Lieutenant General Alexandre Apalo Touré , this ceremony combined New Year's greetings, the promotion of nearly 2,500 military personnel, and the recognition of the most deserving officers.
A historic promotion : A total of 2,497 gendarmes have been promoted, including 89 officers and 2,408 non-commissioned officers. The corps of general officers has grown with the promotion of Generals Bakayoko Lassana, Camara Kinanya Alain, Dago Wacoubouo, and Ouattara Guelpetchin Moussa. True to tradition, they celebrated their promotion with the traditional "watering" ceremony, marking their commitment to their new responsibilities.
A Sense of Duty: Brigadier General Dago Wacoubouo Théodore, spokesperson for the newly promoted officers, emphasized that these ranks are above all an "invitation to serve even more." The troop representatives took the opportunity to acknowledge the improvement in their working conditions while also highlighting the challenges of 2026: combating illegal gold mining and ensuring the security of the electoral process.
