As part of Operation Sparrowhawk XI , Ivorian law enforcement has dealt a significant blow to the illicit trade in pharmaceutical products. The regional police station in Abengourou seized a shipment of substandard and falsified medicines (SFMs) with an estimated value of over 5 million CFA francs .

On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, acting on an anonymous tip, officers conducted a targeted search in the commune of Agnibilékrou. The merchandise was hidden in an unfinished house located in the Mougoubakro neighborhood.

Seizure summary

According to figures released by the General Directorate of the National Police (DGPN), the inventory from this operation is substantial:

Quantity: 93 cartons seized.
Total weight: 1.521 tonnes of prohibited products.
Market value: 5,147,000 FCFA.
