Tiassalé : Une explosion de gaz ravage plusieurs commerces à la gare routière
On the night of Monday, June 29th to Tuesday, June 30th, 2026, a violent fire struck the Tiassalé bus station. While the blaze reduced several businesses to ashes, the damage was fortunately limited to property: no casualties were reported.
It was around 1 a.m. when the first flames were spotted. According to information gathered by AIP from witnesses and security sources, the fire started in a shop following a short circuit. The situation quickly escalated when a butane gas cylinder exploded due to the heat, acting as a powerful accelerant for the blaze.
Rapid spread: Due to the close proximity of the shops and the presence of highly flammable materials, the fire immediately spread to two adjacent businesses.
Even before the arrival of professionals, local solidarity was put in place: residents bravely tried to contain the advance of the flames with whatever means they had at hand.
It was ultimately the firefighters from the 7th company, who came from N'zianoua, who managed to definitively bring the blaze under control after intense efforts. Their quick response prevented the entire bus station from going up in flames.
An official investigation will be opened to shed full light on the exact causes of this tragedy and to precisely quantify the extent of the economic losses for the affected businesses.
