On Thursday, May 7, 2026 , the Director General of Land Transport and Traffic (DGTTC), Mr. Oumar Sacko , convened the authorized dealers in the DGTTC conference room. This working session aimed to review the pilot phase of the new accelerated registration system, established by the decree of August 18, 2025.

A promising progress report

The objective is clear: to streamline administrative procedures and allow owners of new vehicles to obtain their documents in record time. The discussions highlighted significant progress:

1. Cases processed: Already more than 5,700 registrations completed via the accelerated procedure.
2. Installation of license plates: More than 4,000 vehicles are now equipped with their final license plates.
3. Simplified circulation: Vehicles awaiting their registration certificate can continue to circulate legally thanks to the Provisional Circulation Authorization (APC) .

Concrete solutions for the future

Faced with the challenges encountered, the DGTTC announced corrective measures and prospects for expansion:

1. Reduction of backlog: A technical solution is being finalized to integrate old pending files at the Single Automotive Window (GUA) into the accelerated circuit.
2. New infrastructure: In collaboration with the Autonomous District of Abidjan, a new operational site will soon be set up. This center will be dedicated exclusively to the installation of license plates for all authorized dealerships.
3. Network expansion: The success of the pilot phase paves the way for the upcoming integration of new dealers into the scheme.

This initiative underlines the commitment of the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs to a digital and structural transformation of the sector, for the direct benefit of road users.
