Burkina Faso : Vers des soins plus accessibles et une souveraineté architecturale
Under the chairmanship of Captain Ibrahim Traoré , the Council of Ministers on Thursday, February 12, 2026, approved two major reforms. The objective is twofold: to ease the financial burden on citizens facing illness and to require large companies to contribute physically to the country's urban development.
From March 1, 2026 , the cost of accessing healthcare will drop drastically. The government has allocated 3 billion FCFA to subsidize essential health products.

Dr. Robert Kargougou, Minister of Health, explained that this measure aims to guarantee equitable access to care for every Burkinabe, in accordance with the directives of the Head of State.
The government is taking a tougher stance regarding the local presence of economic actors. From now on, any company with an average turnover of 5 billion FCFA over three years must establish its headquarters in Burkina Faso.
Architectural requirements are ranked according to the company's financial power:
Timeline and incentives: Companies have 6 months to submit their applications and 36 months to complete the work. In return, the State facilitates access to land through SONATUR and offers tax exemptions on construction materials.
