Cameroun/Coup de filet à Douala : un important réseau de cocaïne démantelé par la gendarmerie
The Central Judicial Investigation Service (SCRJ) has dealt a major blow to local drug trafficking. On January 10, 2026, a precision operation conducted in the Maképé neighborhood led to the arrest of two individuals, Ogbajar Bénédicte and Hussein Adji , in possession of 5 kg of cocaine . The value of the drugs is estimated at 75 million FCFA .
The investigation reveals a sophisticated criminal organization led by Ogou Umeh Victor . Based in Douala since 2012, he used a car parts business in the Congo Market as a cover to distribute crack cocaine (known locally as "Thai" or "Caillou").
While the mastermind of the network is currently on the run, his two accomplices were brought before the Douala-Bonanjo High Court on January 16.
