Coopération bilatérale : Le Mali et la Russie sécurisent l'approvisionnement en hydrocarbures et intrants agricoles
During strategic meetings in Kazan between Malian and Russian delegations, Bamako and Moscow took a further step in their economic partnership. At the heart of the discussions was securing imports of fuel and fertilizers, two vital pillars for Mali's stability and sovereignty.
Faced with current geopolitical crises—particularly tensions in the Middle East—and major disruptions to global supply chains, the Malian government is taking proactive measures to avoid any shortages. The stakes are high for the national economy, as the country consumes nearly 200 million liters of fuel each month and requires more than 350,000 tons of agricultural inputs annually.
To meet this challenge, a pragmatic cooperation model has been developed:
Far from mere declarations of intent, this meeting concluded with concrete decisions. The two delegations agreed to the creation of an operational agenda and a precise delivery schedule . This roadmap incorporates the essential logistical and financial mechanisms to quickly implement these agreements.
The Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Moussa Alassane Diallo, also welcomed the significance of this alliance:
"This cooperation will help stabilize our hydrocarbon supply system, but also give Mali medium and long-term supply prospects."
