Coopération Togo-Chine : de nouveaux équipements pour booster la mécanisation à Kara

The Togolese agricultural sector has taken another step in its modernization. On December 18, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture received a shipment of agricultural equipment donated by China. This donation, consisting of power tillers and protective gear (boots, hats), is specifically intended for the Planned Agricultural Development Zones (ZAAP) in the Kara region.

The objective is clear: to reduce the arduousness of the work, optimize soil preparation (rice cultivation, market gardening), and increase yields. As a reminder, the ZAAP network, which comprised 222 sites at the end of 2023, remains the spearhead of the national strategy to transform family farming into a high-performing cooperative model.
