RCA : Des candidatures aux législatives entachées de faux diplômes, la Haute Autorité de la Bonne Gouvernance alerte
The High Authority in Charge of Good Governance (HACBG) of the Central African Republic (CAR) highlights a case of diploma fraud in the context of candidacies for the upcoming legislative elections, scheduled for December.
The institution, through its president, Guy Eugène Demba , revealed that it had discovered numerous irregularities after conducting investigations into the files submitted by candidates for parliamentary seats.
The findings are undeniable: several Baccalaureate certificates presented by candidates were found to be invalid . Mr. Demba specified that some diplomas had been falsified , while other documents were presented by individuals who were not their legitimate holders .
The HACBG underlines the seriousness of these practices which threaten not only the transparency of the ongoing electoral process, but also the credibility of the future representatives of the people.
In light of this situation, the Authority urges the relevant bodies — in particular the Electoral Commission and the Ministry of Education — to intensify checks on supporting documents and diplomas required for applications.
“Good governance begins with setting an example. Those who aspire to lead must first respect the law and the truth,” Mr. Demba stressed, reaffirming the HACBG’s commitment to maintaining its rigorous controls until the end of the electoral period.
These revelations are already causing a stir among the public, who are demanding severe sanctions against the fraudsters to discourage future attempts.
