The Ivorian cashew orchard has made history. With a record harvest of 1,549,221 tons of cashew nuts in 2025, Côte d'Ivoire has consolidated its position as a world leader. This figure, which reflects spectacular growth over the last decade, was revealed by Berté Mamadou, Director General of the Cotton and Cashew Council, on February 7, 2026, in Yamoussoukro.

The keys to exceptional success

This performance, which places Ivory Coast far ahead of its African and Asian competitors, is based on four strategic pillars:

1. Securing flows: A drastic strengthening of border surveillance has made it possible to reintegrate into national statistics volumes that previously leaked to neighboring countries.
2. Massive financial support: The farmgate price has increased from 275 FCFA/kg in 2024 to 425 FCFA/kg in 2025 , an increase of more than 50% which has galvanized producers.
3. Technical support: Rigorous monitoring of the orchards and better assistance to farmers have paid off.
4. Favorable weather: Ideal rainfall in the Centre and North boosted the natural yield of the crops.

This announcement was made during the second edition of the National Cotton and Cashew Producer Days . Under the theme of resilience and competitiveness, this event aims to transform the sector to make it more professional and robust.

Beyond the figures, these days constitute a solemn tribute to those working on the ground. As the Council's leadership emphasized, it is about publicly recognizing the vital role of farmers, essential links in the Ivorian economy and guarantors of the country's agricultural strength on the international stage.
