Bouna : À 40 ans, il passe le CEPE dans la même salle que ses enfants
Who said there's an age limit for learning? At the Bouna 2 school, one candidate, quite unlike the others, is attracting everyone's attention and commanding respect. At 40 years old, Dah Sansan is taking his Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEPE) exam this year. His unique situation? He's sharing the exam with two of his own children.
A tailor by trade, Dah Sansan didn't have the opportunity to attend school during his childhood. But he refused to see this as a setback. Driven by a deep desire for a better future, this father bravely enrolled in evening classes. Year after year, he climbed the ranks until he reached the final year of primary school (CM2), thus qualifying for the official exam.
Seated among candidates who could be his children, the man fully embraces his approach, without the slightest hint of self-consciousness:
"I have no hang-ups. Age is not an obstacle to education. Knowing how to read and write is essential today in an increasingly difficult and demanding world."
For this man in his forties, the CEPE (Primary School Leaving Certificate) is just the first step. Besides opening new doors for his professional career, this diploma is the perfect way to demonstrate the value of perseverance to his children. And he doesn't intend to stop there: Dah Sansan already aspires to continue his studies at the secondary level.
By becoming a living symbol that it's never too late to learn , this father hopes to break down taboos and inspire other adults to take the plunge. At the testing center, one thing is certain: his determination has already won over the observers.
