Rumeurs d'arrestation d'Adama Bictogo : Ce qu'il en est réellement

On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, the internet erupted following posts announcing the brutal arrest of Adama Bictogo , former president of the National Assembly of Côte d'Ivoire. Amid allegations of kidnapping and heavy-handed searches, those close to the mayor of Yopougon quickly responded to set the record straight.

The origin of the false alarm

The rumor originated from a Facebook profile in the name of Moussa Sanou. This profile circulated a purported statement attributed to a lawyer, Me Kouamé Fulgence , claiming that his client had been "abducted" from his home around 8 p.m. by armed and masked individuals.

The fake document went so far as to detail a scene worthy of an action movie: guards neutralized, forced search and theft of valuables (jewelry, money and strategic documents).

A formal denial from those close to him

When contacted to verify these serious accusations, Adama Bictogo's staff were categorical. Alain Toussaint , a close collaborator of the politician, dismissed these claims out of hand: "It's fake news."

Other sources confirm that the mayor of Yopougon is in good health. Far from being in detention, he is actively preparing for the municipal council meeting scheduled for this Friday, February 13 , demonstrating an unchanged political agenda.

The context: The shockwave of the SNEDAI affair

The reason this rumor gained such rapid traction is that it comes amidst a climate of tension surrounding the SNEDAÏ group , founded by Mr. Bictogo. The company is currently at the center of an embezzlement investigation.

The case took a new turn with the statements of N'Da Kouamé , the former Administrative and Financial Director (DAF). From his exile, he rejects the accusations levelled against him:

"I refuse to be the name brandished to avoid tracing the chain of responsibility. This problem is one of family governance seeking an ideal scapegoat."

The former CFO is now demanding guarantees of a fair trial before considering a return to Ivory Coast.
