Accord Trump-Justice : Le fisc américain renonce définitivement à toute poursuite fiscale
This is a historic and highly strategic agreement. Under an amendment approved by the Department of Justice, the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will never again be able to pursue Donald Trump, his family, or his businesses for any past tax evasion or back taxes.
This agreement ends a legal battle by sealing an unprecedented compromise between the American president and his own administration.
The amendment, signed by Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, grants the billionaire complete immunity. The text explicitly states that the United States "exonerates, exempts, and permanently discharges" the plaintiffs from any legal action related to past claims.
As a reminder, Donald Trump has always distinguished himself from his predecessors in the White House by refusing to release his tax returns. As direct financial compensation, the Trump family will receive only a formal apology from the government.
This abandonment of the tax proceedings is the quid pro quo for a broader agreement reached the previous day. Donald Trump agreed to withdraw his lawsuit against the IRS — in which he was seeking $10 billion following the leak of his tax data during his first term (2017-2021).
In exchange, the Department of Justice approved the creation of an "anti-instrumentalization" compensation fund with nearly $1.8 billion in assets.
The stated goal of this fund: to "repair" the harm suffered by supporters of Donald Trump who were subject to legal proceedings under the presidency of Joe Biden.
The announcement of this billion-dollar fund immediately ignited a firestorm on the political scene:
