Crise USA-Venezuela: Trinité-et-Tobago met son armée en "alerte générale"

Trinidad and Tobago put its army on general alert Friday, recalling soldiers to their posts, AFP learned from security forces, as the United States deployed warships in the Caribbean for an anti-drug operation particularly targeting Venezuela, a neighbor of the small archipelago.

"General alert: With immediate effect, the TTDF (Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force) has been placed on ALERT LEVEL ONE. All members must report to their respective bases," according to a text sent by the army to officers, while the police have "cancelled all leave," according to messages seen by AFP.

This mobilization comes as the United States has been conducting airstrikes on suspected drug traffickers' boats since September, and as the American press reports that Washington is considering ground strikes in Venezuela. President Donald Trump denied this last night, after having mentioned it in the past.
