Robert Bourgi révèle le nom du marabout sénégalais de Jacques Chirac
He had already said this in a previous interview. French presidents used the services of African marabouts. He notably mentioned the names of François Mitterrand and Jacques Chirac. But what he had never revealed before was the identity of these marabouts.
Recently hosted on the YouTube channel H5 Motivation, Robert Bourgi, the lawyer and political advisor, presented as the symbol of Françafrique, revealed for the first time the name of one of the spiritual guides who served the former tenants of the Elysée.
Chirac was “very generous”
The "holy man" is Senegalese and is called "Chérif Haidara." "He has an avenue named after him in Ziguinchor. He worked for decades for Chirac. In 1988, he told me: 'He's going to lose.' In 1995, when Chirac was at 14% and Balladur was soaring (in the polls), he told me: 'He's going to win,'" Robert Bourgi recounted. The fact is that Jacques Chirac did indeed win the election that year.
After his victory, "he was very generous" towards the "holy man," reveals the Franco-Lebanese lawyer and political advisor.
He is said to have saved him from a severe depression in the 1990s
Chérif Haidara, who has since passed away, is buried in Ziguinchor. Robert Bourgi says he would "always" visit his grave because he was also his marabout. He is said to have saved him from a serious nervous breakdown between 1989 and 1990.
