Pèlerinage 2026 : un deuxième pèlerin sénégalais rappelé à Dieu à La Mecque
The General Directorate of Pilgrimage (DGP) announced on Monday the death of a second Senegalese pilgrim in Mecca, Alioune Badara Diop, aged 49, a member of the ATPM (Treasury) group.
According to the DGP press release, the death occurred this Monday, May 18, 2026 in Biir Ali (Miqat), just after the deceased had performed his Hajj intention prayer, a symbolic and solemn moment marking the official start of the pilgrimage for every Muslim faithful.
The General Directorate of Pilgrimage offered its sincere condolences to the ATPM group and the entire Hajj community, offering this prayer: "May Allah SWT have mercy on him, grant him the reward and merit of his intention of Hajj Mabrur."
This is the second death recorded among Senegalese pilgrims during the 2026 pilgrimage.
