Sécurité routière : Nouvelle sanction pour l'influenceuse Dame Gnaoré

The famous TikToker Dame Gnaoré is once again facing off against road safety authorities. After posting a video she herself on social media, she was summoned by the Directorate of Special Road Safety Police (DPSSR).

Originally expected on Friday, May 29, 2026, the driver appeared earlier than planned to explain her driving behavior, which was described as "risky driving." In the video in question, she can be seen filming her conversation with a passenger while driving.

His driver's license was revoked on the spot.

Following her hearing before the relevant authorities, the penalty was handed down: Ms. Gnaoré had her driver's license provisionally revoked. Her case does not end there, however, as she will have to appear in June 2026 before the special commission for the suspension and revocation of driver's licenses, which will decide on the length of her sanction.

A recurrence within the space of a few months

This isn't the first time the influencer has been reprimanded. In March 2026, the Directorate General of Land Transport and Traffic (DGTTC) had already summoned her for using her phone while driving. At the time, the Police Emergency platform had issued a warning about images showing her using her smartphone while driving, also suspecting her of not wearing a seatbelt.

Why filming yourself while driving is heavily penalized

To answer internet users who are wondering about the exact nature of the offenses committed, the DGTTC has relayed a clear analysis of the risks associated with filming videos while driving:

  1. Loss of visual control: Even if the phone is fixed and not held in your hand, looking at the camera lens takes your eyes off the road. At a speed of 50 km/h, taking your eyes off the road for just two seconds is equivalent to traveling nearly 30 meters blind.
  2. Mental distraction: Performing and addressing an audience (real or future) monopolizes the brain's attention, which focuses on the performance rather than the road environment.
  3. Endangering others: This lack of caution violates the general duty of safety. It exposes passengers, pedestrians, and other drivers to an immediate risk of serious injury or even death.

In the age of TikTok and Instagram, the race for audience share is pushing too many drivers to put on a show. Authorities remind drivers that this constitutes serious misconduct and blatant recklessness.

Legal perspective (Ivory Coast): The prosecutions and penalties imposed are strictly based on Ivorian law. Specifically , Article 6 of Decree No. 2016-864 of November 3, 2016 (regulating the use of roads) and Article 257 (new) of its amending decree No. 2022-631 of August 3, 2022 are cited. The DGTTC's position is therefore fully governed by the law.
