The Gbêkê region awoke to grief on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. A horrific accident involving a public transport vehicle and a heavy goods vehicle claimed the lives of four people at the entrance to Bouaké.

Upon arrival, the 3rd Company of the Military Firefighters Group (GSPM) discovered a scene of chaos: a minibus and a dump truck loaded with sand had collided head-on.
The impact was such that many passengers were trapped in the wreckage, requiring the immediate use of extrication equipment.
