Côte d’Ivoire : la paralysie cérébrale, un handicap encore méconnu
In Ivory Coast, thousands of children and families live with cerebral palsy , a disability that remains poorly understood and surrounded by many misconceptions. This reality, receiving little media attention, often remains invisible despite its significant daily consequences.
A report by RTI highlights the experiences of affected families, who face difficulties in accessing care, social stigma, and a lack of information. The report emphasizes that cerebral palsy primarily affects motor skills and is not, in many cases, linked to intellectual disability.
This report highlights the need to raise awareness , provide better information and promote the inclusion of people living with this disability, in order to break down the still persistent prejudices.
