The skies above Côte d'Ivoire are opening up to new horizons. On Saturday, March 14, 2026, the Abidjan Aero Club and the Savanes Aero Club (Korhogo) formalized their union by signing a twinning agreement. This strategic partnership aims to transform general aviation into a driver of training and innovation for young people.

An alliance under the banner of transmission

Initialed by Touré Daouda (Abidjan) and Touré Abdel Khader (Savanes), under the auspices of FEDISA (Ivorian Federation of Air Sports), this agreement marks the beginning of an era of pooling resources.

The objective is clear: to leverage Abidjan's historical expertise to propel the Aéro-Club des Savanes. The latter plans to utilize the modernized infrastructure of Korhogo airport to become a leading training center.

What this twinning entails

The agreement is not limited to theory. It rests on concrete pillars to revitalize the sector:

1. Training & Technical Support: Sharing of instructors, technical assistance and provision of aerial resources to ensure safe learning.
2. Diversification of disciplines: Promotion of free flight, parachuting and aeromodelling to introduce younger people to precision mechanics.
3. Tourism Innovation: The unprecedented introduction of hot air balloons to offer a new perspective on the Ivorian landscapes.

A new aeronautical hub

Beyond the technical aspects, the project focuses on passion. Introductory flights , state-of-the-art flight simulators, and leisure areas (clubhouse, restaurant) will be deployed to create a true community around aviation.

By joining forces, Abidjan and Korhogo are not just bringing two cities closer together; they are building a bridge to the jobs of tomorrow for an entire generation.
