Sécurité publique : un immeuble instable démoli à Adjamé
A major security operation was carried out on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 in Adjamé. The Civil Protection Brigade, in collaboration with the Urban Investigation and Control Brigade (BICU) of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Urban Planning, proceeded with the demolition of a building deemed dangerous in the Thérèse Houphouët-Boigny district.
The building in question, a four-story (ground floor plus three upper floors) mixed-use building (residential and commercial), was in a state of advanced disrepair and exhibited proven structural instability. According to technical services, the building threatened to collapse at any moment, posing a serious risk to the lives of its occupants and those of neighboring residents.
This demolition follows an official request submitted by the rights holders on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, to the local branch of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Urban Planning in Adjamé, as well as to the Civil Protection Brigade. The objective of the operation was clearly preventative: to avoid a human tragedy by neutralizing an imminent danger.
Through this action, the National Office of Civil Protection (ONPC) reaffirms its commitment to public safety and the prevention of urban risks. The institution also urges citizens to be vigilant and to report without delay any building showing signs of weakness or danger, in order to allow for a rapid and appropriate intervention by the relevant services.
