The dynamics of relations between Côte d'Ivoire and the United States are strengthening. The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and the Diaspora, Nialé Kaba, granted an audience on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, to US Senator Steven Daines, in the presence of the Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire to Washington, Touré Ibrahima, and members of the American delegation.
This diplomatic meeting is part of the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Abidjan and Washington and paves the way for higher-level exchanges. It reflects the growing interest of the United States in Côte d'Ivoire, seen as a pillar of stability and a major economic partner in West Africa.
At the conclusion of the discussions, Senator Steven Daines praised the warm welcome and the excellent relations between the two countries. He reaffirmed the United States' commitment to continued cooperation in key sectors, particularly security and development.
This audience confirms Côte d'Ivoire's position as a strategic player in the Gulf of Guinea and a privileged interlocutor for Washington on economic and security issues in the sub-region.
