Soutien massif à la jeunesse, la prime de stage alignée sur le SMIG
The landscape of professional integration in Côte d'Ivoire is undergoing a major transformation. During the New Year's greetings ceremony on February 19, 2026, at the Palace of Culture, Minister Mamadou Touré unveiled a series of social and financial reforms designed to boost the future of young Ivorians.
The key announcement concerns the immediate increase in interns' income. On the instructions of the Head of State, Alassane Ouattara, internship allowances are increasing from 45,000 FCFA to 75,000 FCFA .
This increase aligns the remuneration of young people in training with the Guaranteed Interprofessional Minimum Wage (SMIG) . It also applies to beneficiaries of high-intensity labor projects (THIMO).
Beyond the financial aspect, the Ministry of Youth is deploying a comprehensive strategy:
"Beyond the numbers, it's about restored life paths and a youth regaining confidence to become an actor in the country's economic transformation." — Waly Wane, World Bank.
The Technical and Financial Partners (TFPs), represented by the World Bank, reiterated their support for this policy, which makes youth employment an absolute national priority . The Government's Youth Program (PJ-Gouv) continues to establish itself as the driving force behind this social transformation.
