La Côte d'Ivoire vise une réduction de plus de 33% de ses gaz à effet de serre d'ici 2035
In preparation for the 30th Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP 30) , Côte d'Ivoire took a decisive step by officially presenting, on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the Prime Minister's Office, the third version of its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0) .
The NDC 3.0 marks a significant increase in national ambitions. The country has set itself a clear objective: to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 33.07% by 2035 compared to a baseline scenario.
The Minister of the Environment, Sustainable Development and Ecological Transition, Jacques Konan Assahoré , specified that this represents a decrease of approximately 52 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalent .
This strategic document, submitted to the head of the Ivorian delegation at COP 30, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Léon Kacou Adom , aims to:
The launch ceremony brought together numerous dignitaries, including diplomats, representatives from the private sector, technical and financial partners (TFPs), and civil society.
The UNDP Resident Representative, Blerta Cela , commended the quality and strategic scope of the NDC 3.0 and reaffirmed the commitment of the United Nations and development partners to support their implementation. The total cost of these new contributions is estimated at 32,926 billion CFA francs .
At COP 30 in Belém (Brazil) , which will be held from November 10 to 21, 2025, the NDC 3.0 will be presented in detail at the Ivory Coast pavilion.
