The Association of Soap Makers and Industrial Chemists of Ivory Coast ( ASACI ) has just unveiled the social calendar for the year 2026. Based on the Labor Code and regulations in force, this document is the reference tool to allow companies and employees to best plan their professional year.

The program includes 14 public holidays combining civil commemorations and religious celebrations.

The calendar of festivities by semester

The year 2026 promises to be eventful, with a notable concentration of celebrations during the first half of the year.

First half of the year: A succession of religious holidays

1. January 1st: New Year's Day.
2. March 15-16: Night of Destiny.
3. March 20: Ramadan Festival (Eid al-Fitr).
4. April 5-6: Easter Sunday and Monday.
5. May 1st: Labor Day.
6. May 14: Ascension Thursday.
7. May 24-25: Whit Sunday and Whit Monday.
8. May 27: Tabaski Festival (Eid al-Adha).

Second semester: National identity and end of year

1. August 7th: National Holiday.
2. August 15: Assumption.
3. August 24-25: The Mawlid.
4. November 1st: All Saints' Day.
5. November 15: National Peace Day.
6. December 25th: Christmas.

Important note: As is customary, the dates linked to the lunar calendar (Ramadan, Tabaski, Maoulid) are likely to vary by one or two days depending on the official observation of the lunar crescent.

Work organization: Continuous workdays

To facilitate preparations for the major festivities, ASACI and the authorities are planning continuous workdays . These arrangements allow employees to leave work earlier.

1. Dates concerned: April 3 (before Easter), May 26 (eve of Tabaski), as well as December 24 and 31.
2. Typical hours: Generally from 7:30 to 12:00 or from 7:45 to 12:15 .
