Sport : Anaïs Ossonon, la nouvelle étoile ivoirienne qui entre dans l’histoire mondiale
Ivory Coast now has its pioneer in rhythmic gymnastics. At just 21 years old, Anaïs Ossonon became the first Ivorian to take part in the World Championships in the discipline, writing her name in gold in the history of national sport and paving the way for a new generation of athletes.
Born in Aboudé-Kouassikro and trained in Canada, the young gymnast built her career far from the Ivorian spotlight, gradually climbing the ranks to the elite level. Her commitment, discipline, and performances on the international stage have allowed her to compete with the best in a sport that is still relatively undeveloped in Côte d'Ivoire.
By choosing to represent Ivory Coast, Anaïs Ossonon made a powerful statement. Beyond her individual performance, her presence at the World Championships symbolizes the country's entry into a discipline previously absent from major international competitions and strengthens the visibility of Ivorian women's sport.
Determined to go even further, the gymnast is now showing her ambitions: to continue her rise on the international circuit and to secure a qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. An inspiring trajectory that makes her one of the new faces of Ivorian sporting excellence.
