Égypte : coup d'accélérateur pour la production animale

The North African country of Egypt is firmly committed to developing its livestock production. This Saturday, October 25, 2025, the Ministers of Local Development and Agriculture conducted an inspection visit to a major project in this sector, according to an announcement made by the Cabinet of Ministers on its Facebook page.

The delegation, comprising Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of Environment, Mr. Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, as well as General Dr. Mohamed El-Zamlout, Governor of New Valley, Ms. Hanan Magdy, Deputy Governor, and other governors, traveled south to the city of Kharga.

The objective of this inspection was to closely monitor the progress, operating system, and management of the livestock production project. Officials examined the various components of this initiative, implemented through a cooperation protocol between the governorate, the West Nile Agricultural Investment Company, and the National Bank of Egypt.

This ambitious project currently has 2,140 head of Brazilian cattle under strict veterinary supervision. It aims to achieve fattening cycles of 4 to 6 months. Its goal is twofold: to strengthen the country's food security and to provide red meat at more affordable prices for citizens.

The participants in the visit unanimously praised the progress made in the operation and management of the farm. They emphasized that this project is a "successful model of partnership between the state, the banking sector, and the private sector." Such collaboration is essential for the development of livestock production, achieving food self-sufficiency, and creating sustainable employment opportunities for the region's youth.
