La Côte d'Ivoire allie sport et formation : quatre lycées techniques bientôt dotés de terrains de football ultramodernes
Ivory Coast is banking on the alliance of sport and technical education. Minister Dr Koffi N'Guessan (Technical Education, Vocational Training and Apprenticeship) and his counterpart delegate for Sports and Living Environment, Adjé Silas Méché , yesterday launched the construction of four modern football pitches in technical and vocational high schools.
These new facilities, the result of a strategic partnership between the two ministries, concern the schools in Ébimpé , Jacqueville , Yopougon and Yamoussoukro . The objective is twofold: to enhance physical and sports education (PSE) and to create concrete pathways to employment for young people.
Minister Koffi N'Guessan emphasized the educational dimension of the project: "These fields will not only strengthen the practice of physical education, but also revive inter-school competitions ." Meeting international standards , these pitches will eventually host school competitions and will also be used for the preparation of national teams, as Minister Adjé Silas Méché explained, highlighting an "upgrade of school sports infrastructure" thanks to the expertise of the National Sports Office (ONS).
But the initiative goes further. It includes a professional integration component:

This large-scale project also includes the rehabilitation of regional stadiums in Dimbokro, Katiola, Aboisso and Daloa, thus strengthening the national sports network.
The company Grégory International , in charge of carrying out the work, has committed to delivering the works quickly, with the ambition of seeing the first school matches played there as early as 2026 .
