Portrait – Bouéka Nabo Clément, entre politique, vision et action locale
A key figure in the Ivorian political landscape, Bouéka Nabo Clément has established himself as a major player in regional development. President of the San-Pédro Regional Council since 2023, this former Minister of Water and Forests combines experience, leadership, and a close connection with the people to drive a new dynamic in southwestern Côte d'Ivoire.
With a long career in the civil service, Bouéka Nabo Clément held several positions of responsibility, including that of minister, before devoting himself fully to local management.
Elected to head the Regional Council of San-Pédro, he is now working towards balanced development, focused on modernizing infrastructure, promoting local entrepreneurship and enhancing the agricultural and tourism potential of the region.
Under his presidency, San-Pédro experienced a revival. Emphasis was placed on territorial planning, social cohesion, and the involvement of young people in local governance.
In July 2025, Bouéka Nabo Clément received the UNESCO Chair Recognition Award “Anticipation, Foresight and Sustainable Territories” , recognizing his commitment to future-oriented and environmentally friendly territorial management.
Close to the ground, he is multiplying social and economic initiatives in favor of young people and women. During community ceremonies or political training sessions, he advocates for a united and responsible Ivory Coast:
"Development can only be built on cohesion and solidarity."
His action goes beyond the local level: in 2024, he initiated a partnership with the province of Hainan (China) , in order to attract investments in agro-industry and sustainable tourism in San-Pédro.
An influential member of the Rally of Houphouëtists for Democracy and Peace (RHDP) , Bouéka Nabo Clément plays a strategic role in regional political mobilization. For him, public action must combine efficiency, accessibility, and a sense of service.
