Grand-Bassam : l’ambassade de Türkiye apporte son soutien à l’orphelinat de filles

En ce début d’année 2026, l’Ambassade de la République de Türkiye en Côte d’Ivoire a renouvelé son soutien aux jeunes pensionnaires de l’Orphelinat national de filles de Grand-Bassam. Le 27 janvier dernier, S.E. Mme Deniz Erdoğan Barım, ambassadrice de Türkiye, s’est rendue dans cet établissement avec une délégation pour y apporter des dons alimentaires et des biens divers, offerts au nom de l’ambassade et d’une entreprise turque, témoignant ainsi de la solidarité turque envers ces enfants.

Durant sa visite, la diplomate a pu voir les aménagements réalisés grâce au soutien turc au fil des dernières années. En effet, lors d’une précédente visite accompagnée du président de la Grande Assemblée nationale de Türkiye, des infrastructures telles que la maternelle, la salle informatique, l’infirmerie et la bibliothèque avaient été équipées grâce à des contributions partners turcs.

Poursuivant cet engagement, Mme l’ambassadrice a annoncé son intention de renforcer encore l’équipement pédagogique de la maternelle, afin d’améliorer les conditions d’apprentissage des plus jeunes filles accueillies dans la structure.

L’Orphelinat national de filles de Grand-Bassam, créé en 1972 et restauré en 2016 grâce à l’appui de l’Agence turque de coopération et de coordination (TİKA), dispose d’une capacité d’accueil de 125 lits et est équipé d’un groupe électrogène pour assurer son fonctionnement en toute circonstance.

S’adressant aux enfants, l’ambassadrice les a encouragées à poursuivre leurs études avec sérieux, à faire preuve de respect et de discipline, des qualités qu’elle considère essentielles pour leur avenir.

Le directeur de l’établissement, Marcel Légré, a salué cette initiative de l’ambassade et exprimé sa gratitude, espérant que de tels gestes de solidarité se multiplient. Aujourd’hui, l’orphelinat accueille 168 pensionnaires, dont une majorité d’élèves du primaire, et demeure un symbole fort de coopération éducative et humanitaire entre la Côte d’Ivoire et la Türkiye.
